    Please interview carefully, ask to see their home and other pets. Some people scour ads for research animals. Ask for money. They are more likely to go for free ones. It also gives you an idea that they can afford proper care. Also, consider a contract requiring they see a vet within 3 days. Another way to guarantee that they care about the well-being of the pet.

    It depends on if you are trying to get money for the dog or not. If you just want to get the dog a good home think about a breed rescue in your area. Or place an ad in the paper and ask for a rehoming fee to asure that the dog will go to someone who is willing to invest in it. If they are not able to pay anything that may mean that they cannot afford to pay vet bills ect.
